Long Branch City Council on Oct. 8, 2025 adopted Ordinance 0-12-25, amending Chapter 147 (Construction Codes) of the municipal code to update various construction permit subcode fees, including changing the certificate-of-occupancy fee from $39 to $30.
The ordinance was introduced at the council's Sept. 24 meeting. On Oct. 8 the council moved to amend Section G(3) to change the certificate-of-occupancy fee, opened a public hearing on the ordinance, heard no members of the public who wished to speak on the item, and then adopted the ordinance on second and final reading by roll call vote.
Council members voted to adopt and to advertise the ordinance according to law; the motion carried on the record. There were no public comments during the hearing on the ordinance.
At the same meeting the council also approved the listed resolutions as a consent agenda by roll call vote. The clerk certified that the meeting had been published and posted in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act before the council took up ordinance and consent-agenda business.
The ordinance will be advertised as required by law. The ordinance was introduced on Sept. 24, 2025; the city clerk's office can provide the final, codified text and effective dates once the publication steps are complete.
