Winslow Township officials reported progress on facilities work and 2024-25 capital projects during the Oct. 22 board meeting, including a timeline to complete middle school flooring that has kept students learning remotely.
Superintendent Dion Pease said the district is working with contractors to complete significant repairs at a damaged building and that flooring replacement is expected to take about 2'—3 weeks; he said the timeline could be affected by supplies and contractor scheduling and that the district will provide updates to families.
Operations committee reporting (Miss Bloom) summarized capital projects that have advanced to bid: HVAC upgrades at the high school and middle school; roof replacement on the high school J wing and administrative building; construction of a pole barn on the high school campus; and upgrades to the serving lines in the high school cafeteria. Project bids were out following a pre-bid walkthrough held Oct. 19 (reported as "this Monday" in committee remarks), and vendors may submit questions before the bid receipt date set for Friday, Nov. 14, 2025. The committee reported an anticipated award date of Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025.
The operations report noted other status items: an HVAC upgrade in the middle school main office is near completion (vendor punch list nearly closed), the food service fund has outstanding lunch balances in the amount of $25,517.82 (not yet paid), and the auditors are conducting the district's 2024-25 annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR) with a filing date of Dec. 5, 2025.
The board did not take separate action on the bids at the Oct. 22 meeting; the administration said bids will be returned to the board for award on the anticipated Nov. 25 date.
