The Addison SD 4 facilities committee reported on building projects and district property at the Oct. 16 board meeting, previewing a 2026 construction project at Wesley School, confirming repairs at Fullerton Elementary and updating the board on bids for the Old Mill School property.
Committee chair Mr. Ruffalo said the primary 2026 construction work will center on Wesley School and will include replacing mechanical systems, a new roof chiller and three rooftop units, classroom piping, new ceilings, a fire-alarm/notification system, repainting and new window treatments. The committee also discussed issuing RFPs for landscaping and plumbing.
Ruffalo said a water main break at Fullerton School has been fixed and that the district is reviewing repair estimates to prevent future issues. The committee reported several bids for the Old Mill School sale; staff has countered one of the top bids and is awaiting a response before making a recommendation to the board.
Committee members also discussed district radio communications and a repeater at Indian Trail that has experienced issues; the committee is pursuing fixes to improve radio coverage. The board tabled any final action on the Old Mill property pending staff recommendation.
No formal vote was taken on the facilities-report items at the meeting aside from the earlier routine approvals. Staff will return to the board with more specific cost estimates and a recommendation on the Old Mill sale when available.
