DeKalb Township trustees voted on several fiscal and policy items, including payment approvals, receipt of the treasurer’s budget report, a tax levy ordinance and a commemorative resolution.
The board approved the September audit reports in the amount of $260,027.27 and motioned to pay October bills totaling $764,156.43; a roll call recorded votes in favor and the motion passed. The board then voted to receive, file and approve the treasurer’s September budget report; that motion also passed on roll call.
On the township’s levy, trustees approved ordinance 2025‑0022T (DeKalb Township levy) requesting a total of $1,115,775 for the coming fiscal year. The clerk presented slides explaining property tax mechanics, the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law (PTELL) limit (5% or CPI, whichever is less), and how equalized assessed value affects tax rates. Trustees discussed shifting some dollars to general assistance and noted uncertainty about equalized assessed values until June; the levy ordinance passed by roll call vote.
Trustees also approved resolution 2025‑009T supporting the Illinois America 250 commemoration and agreed to participate in local planning and events tied to the national‑level celebration. The board approved minutes of the Sept. 16, 2025 meeting and adjourned the meeting at 7:11 p.m.
