A Lenawee County Probate & Juvenile Court hearing on the first-and-final accounting for the estate of Timothy Bergen was adjourned to Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. after attorneys and the guardian ad litem asked for more time to review receipts and documentation.
Judge Salas opened the record in the matter and noted a brief bench conference had taken place with the guardian ad litem and counsel. Attorney Ashley Hanson Grimes appeared for Lisa Bergen, the estate’s personal representative, and Michael McFarlane appeared for other interested parties; the conservator, Miss Schaeffer, was expected to participate by phone or Zoom.
The attorneys said Miss Schaeffer had submitted multiple proposed accountings and that the parties had previously adjourned to allow time to vet a version that could be admitted. Counsel requested an adjournment to gather receipts and to allow the guardian ad litem to investigate outstanding questions. The court set a new hearing date of Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. and directed parties who need additional time to either file a stipulation or appear and request more time.
No formal vote was taken; the court issued the adjournment by order. The record shows the adjournment was requested to permit production and review of receipts and follow-up from the guardian ad litem; counsel said they would file written objections if issues remained after that review.
