Natrona County board honors two elementary schools, hears literacy, CTE and library reports; consent agenda approved

Natrona County School District #1 trustees recognized two elementary schools for academic improvement and received several district reports at the Oct. 13 board meeting, then approved the consent agenda unanimously.

Why it matters: The recognitions and reports reflect district priorities — literacy, career and technical education (CTE), and student supports — and provide public detail about where the district is directing training and resources.

School recognitions

Superintendent Hensley and Executive Director Nicole Rapp (introduced at the meeting) presented recognitions for Summit Elementary and Barnum Elementary.

Summit Elementary: Superintendent Hensley said Summit “has really set the bar for excellence,” noting the school moved to an "exceeding" rating on the state accountability model and was one of about 10 schools in Wyoming to reach that level.
