One commissioner said the county hosted a panel at the coroner's office to ensure state and federal partners understand local programs. "We did the retrofit over in the Justice Center to create 90 beds for mental health and addiction services in the jail so that those that want to participate in that program have the supports they need, both while they're in the facility and once they leave," the commissioner said, noting representatives from the Ohio attorney general's office and multiple state senators attended the events.
Commissioners and administration said the county is pursuing partnerships across levels of government and with local providers to expand addiction services, and they praised outreach by local providers and street-level outreach teams. The remarks were presented during commissioners' comments and are not a formal action; commissioners said further coordination with state partners would continue.
