SBCC committee approves agenda and past minutes; introduces petition process

A motion to approve the agenda was moved and seconded; members voted by saying “aye,” and the chair declared the agenda approved. Later, a motion to approve the Sept. 12 minutes was made and seconded and approved by voice vote.
Following those routine approvals, the committee moved into substantive business and agreed to introduce a petition from Ken Broullette (City of Seattle Fire Department) to the full council for consideration next week; the petition concerns how a 2024 statutory change affects occupant-load and sprinkler calculations for child care in existing buildings.
