Story County auditor announces absentee voting schedule for Nov. 4 city and school elections

Story County Auditor Martin told the Board of Supervisors on Oct. 14 that in-person absentee voting for the Nov. 4 city and school elections will begin Oct. 15 in the Administration Building.
Auditor Martin said absentee voting will be available Monday through Friday during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in the Assessor’s Conference Room. The auditor’s office also scheduled satellite absentee voting Friday, Oct. 24 at 60 Forward in Ames and Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Ames Public Library; satellite voting will run 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
“Starting tomorrow, October 15, absentee voting in person here in the Administration Building will begin for the upcoming city school election,” Auditor Martin said. He reminded voters that the election is Nov. 4 and that polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at assigned polling places on election day.
The auditor’s office said staff coordinated with other county offices to secure space for extended absentee hours and that turnout is difficult to predict, but countywide turnout might be about 20 percent depending on the ballot. Voters should go to their assigned polling location to vote on Nov. 4.
