The Goshen Central School District business office reported that tax collection is open, state aid forms are being prepared, and July financials show spending consistent with seasonal expectations.
Assistant Superintendent for Business Ben Van Laverick told the board payments may be mailed to the address on tax bills, dropped in a collection box in the district vestibule, or paid online via a link on the tax bill and district website. He said state aid forms are underway and the district’s audit has been finalized.
For July financials, Van Laverick said the district recorded $3,400,000 in expenditures (approximately 3.5% of the total annual budget) and total revenue of about $190,000 (about 0.2% of budget), which is normal for July when revenues are low. He noted interest income of $87,000 and donations of $29,700 that funded playground equipment at Scotchtown Avenue School.
Van Laverick also reported two solar PILOT payments from South Goshen and Glenmere Lake. He said the district did not receive the lunch‑fund equipment grant it had applied for and will work with the food service director to plan equipment replacements internally and build a five‑year plan.
His report closed with a reminder that he will attend a state aid planning workshop and that finalized state aid outlooks will inform next year’s budget planning.
