Staff said the application is due next month and that a more detailed scope and phased plan would be brought back to commissioners before any matching funds are committed.
Chairman Becker and other commissioners said the application deadline arrived quickly and that the committee should authorize filing the application so staff can seek the full award and return with a timeline and match plan. The committee approved the motion to submit the application by voice vote.
If the county is selected, staff said the award would be used for assessments and phased renovation planning; commissioners will consider match options and a funding plan before the county agrees to any expenditure.
