The Haslet City Council unanimously approved a slate of board appointments and reappointments Monday, including library-board positions and a vacancy on the Haslet Community and Economic Development Corporation (HCEDC).
For the library board the council accepted recommendations to reappoint Kathy Vanzant (Place 1), Candy Lehi (Place 3) and Leah Preston (Place 5), and to appoint Dana Johnson (Place 2) and Dana Freeman (Place 7) to fill vacancies. The mayor called the motion; council seconded and approved the appointments unanimously.
On the HCEDC the board had provided three applicants for Place 6; council appointed Ian Myers to fill the vacancy. Council also reappointed Patricia Parker (Place 2) and Laura Schlatterhoff (Place 4) as recommended. The action was recorded as unanimous.
Council members noted that commission appointments are decided by majority vote of the council and that the board's recommendations were advisory. The council recorded the appointments and asked staff to update board rosters.
