Committee advances transportation policies to second reading and proposes $7,600 audit contract

A committee presenter said on Oct. 14 that two transportation-related policies (listed on the September agenda as 8 10 1 and 8 10 2) will move forward for second readings after receiving quarterly updates from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association. "These PSBA, Pennsylvania School Boards Association, they give us quarterly updates for school board policies, and we are adopting these policies as, as shown here," the presenter said.
The committee also discussed an agreement with Transfinder Corporation in the amount of $7,600 to conduct a transportation audit for the district. "To approve the agreement between Marple Newtown School District and Transfinder Corporation in the amount of $7,600 for the purpose of a transportation audit. Our district solicitor has reviewed this agreement," the presenter said. The presenter described the audit as a step toward improving efficiency in routing and scheduling, noting prior audits of building schedules had informed recent schedule changes.
No formal votes were recorded at the committee level; the policies were moved to second readings and the contract is to be presented for formal approval at a future full-board meeting.
