Committee to solicit bids for Paxton Hollow roof project; district seeks new admin building furniture

Mr. Desi and facilities staff told the Marple Newtown School Board’s facilities and transportation committee on Oct. 14 that the district will solicit bids for a rooftop replacement and boiler room project at Paxton Hollow Middle School. "This is a little reduced scope from the past 1 that we rejected last month," a facilities representative said, describing the revised project scope.
The committee also discussed replacing outdated furniture in the Administration Building and proposed using a CoStar contract under code 35 E22 174 in the amount of $28,378.73 to purchase desks, chairs and other furnishings. "Which furniture is it? It's different furniture throughout the Administration Building. We have older desks, chairs, different stuff throughout the Administration here," the facilities presenter said.
Committee members passed transportation-related items to staff (Joel) for follow-up. No formal votes on the Paxton Hollow solicitation or the furniture purchase were recorded at the committee; both items are scheduled to return to the full board for approval.
