The council read and adopted two proclamations Oct. 21. The first honored the life and community contributions of Gerald “Jerry” Criner, noting his roles as a co‑owner and project manager at Mixed Studios and as a DDA board member and encouraging citizens to celebrate his life.
The second proclamation declared November as Family Court Awareness Month to promote training and awareness for family‑court professionals on topics including domestic violence, child abuse, trauma and evidence‑based practices guiding the best interest of children.
Council members offered remarks about Criner’s community engagement and said the DDA also issued a proclamation. No formal vote was required for the readings; both proclamations were entered into the public record.
