APC approves Purdue Research Foundation planned development phase 2 (barn/park)

The Area Plan Commission on Oct. 15 approved resolution PD‑25‑13, the second phase of a planned development by the Purdue Research Foundation for the Discovery Park District. The phase covers an open public gathering park north of the “barn” building already under construction in the Purdue Research Park area.
Amanda (APC staff) summarized that the first phase had covered the barn itself and that this second PD applies primarily to the northern portion of the block. She reported that the final development plans and final plat meet required conditions for approval at this stage. The West Lafayette City Council had previously approved a rezone for the area on May 5, 2025.
Jeremy Slater, vice president of real estate and partnerships for the Purdue Research Foundation, said the foundation hopes to have both the barn and the park open by February 2026 and invited questions.
The clerk recorded 15 ballots cast in favor of PD‑25‑13; the motion carried.
