Staff encouraged commissioners to share a set of regional safety videos produced by the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments (SEMCOG), including an educational roundabout video and an award‑winning speed safety video. The videos cover yielding rules, the three‑foot safe‑passing guideline for bicyclists, and other safe‑streets messaging; staff said they will coordinate with the communications team and local cable channel (GITV) to air the materials and pursue a targeted video on e‑bikes.
BPAC members discussed possibilities for collaborating with the police department and the township communications commission to expand education on roundabout rules, safe passing for bicyclists, and speed awareness. No formal action or funding decision was taken; commissioners asked staff to share the SEMCOG video links with township communications and to explore airing them on local channels and social media.
