Council confirms slate of commission and foundation appointments, 7-0
Summary
On Oct. 21 the City Council approved multiple appointments and reappointments across advisory boards and commissions — Building Standards Commission, Planning & Zoning Commission, Sugar Land Legacy Foundation, and Zoning Board of Adjustment — in a series of motions that passed unanimously.
The Sugar Land City Council on Oct. 21 appointed and reappointed members to multiple boards and commissions in a group of consent and individual agenda votes, each approved unanimously (7-0).
Appointments approved by the council included: Building Standards Commission — appointment of Sanjay Jain as a regular member; reappointments of Lana Goldberg and Siva Rahapothi and Hakeem Buwadi; alternates Jitesh Chanchani and Lisa Morris; reappointment of Kelly Kanaki as chair and appointment of Sanjay Jain as vice chair. Planning & Zoning Commission — reappointments of Chuck Brown, Randall Holbrook and Mary Smith; appointments of Tim Hart and Brad Tilton; reappointment of Matt Caligar as chair and appointment of Tim Hart as vice chair. Sugar Land Legacy Foundation — appointments of Ashok Dasgupta, Lee Wench, Linda Schoonmaker and George Kakkanat. Zoning Board of Adjustment — appointments of Danilo Alvarado and Doug White as regular members, appointment of Manisha Gandhi as alternate, reappointment of Shikhartha Pravada as chair and Josh Martin as vice chair.
Each motion passed by a recorded unanimous vote of 7-0. Council made the appointments in order to fill regular and alternate positions and to name chairs and vice chairs for the commissions.
