During the Oct. 6 meeting, city staff presented three bids to replace truck 52, a 2000 F-350, and the council approved purchasing a 2025 Ford from Hag Ford for $124,765 with snow equipment and a salt spreader.
Public works staff said the city requested three bids and recommended Hag Ford as the local, lowest bidder. “We want to replace truck 52...with a 2025 F-350 wheel drive, all decked out with the snow equipment, salt spreader, and a 9½-foot plow,” a public works representative said. The bids were: Hag Ford $124,765; Hubler Truck (Greensburg) $125,001.90; Airport Ford $127,002.25.
Council discussion noted the vehicle order should be placed before the end of the year; staff said the purchase would be charged to next year’s equipment budget (MDF city equipment) if the council approves the 2026 budget. A motion to approve the Hag Ford purchase passed by voice vote.
Councilors thanked the public works crew for preparing bid materials and said the purchase would support winter operations and street maintenance.
