District staff presented a $297,706.15 quote from Spectrum Technologies for 95 86‑inch interactive displays. The technology presentation described security and maintainability concerns with existing ceiling projectors and vendor devices that are at end‑of‑life. The proposed displays use the district’s current interactive‑display standard and would be mounted on stands so classrooms can retain flexible layouts.
“We’re looking to purchase 95 interactive displays for Deming High School,” a district technology official said, noting that projectors will remain in place while displays are implemented. Staff said implementation would be phased and that projectors that remain functional and not end‑of‑life will not be immediately removed.
A motion to approve the quote passed unanimously. Staff also asked the board to adopt a resolution to dispose of older technology items through public auction; the board approved the disposal resolution.
