Council accepts three grants including $65,000 municipal road-safety award

The items accepted were listed as: a FY 2026 library cash donation (amount recorded in the packet as $15), a Verne JAG grant with no match required in the amount of $28,000, and a municipal road-safety grant, no match required, in the amount of $65,000. The council accepted the awards by roll call during the meeting.
Councilors were told the grants fall below the council’s threshold for extended review and that no local match was required for the two grant awards. The grants were recorded as accepted by the council; staff will process the awards per normal finance and grant-acceptance procedures.
