Board approves disposal or resale of obsolete food‑service and stadium equipment

The Maple Heights Board of Education on Oct. 13 approved the superintendent's recommendation to dispose of or resell nonfunctioning equipment identified in the agenda.
During discussion a board member asked which items were marked for resale versus disposal. District staff said only one of the items is a food service item (a milk cooler); another cooler is a unit housed at the stadium and both items are expected to be sold to a local scrap yard. "Both of these items would be sold to local scrap yard. So we can get some type of compensation for those items," a district representative said. The superintendent's office told the board proceeds will be turned in to the treasurer's office.
The board approved the disposal/resale motion by roll call.
