District publishes quality profile and fall community mailer; Golden Eagle pass announced for seniors

Superintendent Sawyers updated the board that the district's new quality profile is available for download on the district website and in school buildings. He said the profile summarizes the 2024'5 school year's academics, athletics, extracurriculars and finances and is intended as a compact record of district progress that the public can reference.
Sawyers also said a fall community mailer began distribution the week of Oct. 20 to every resident in the New Albany-Plain Local School District and portions of Columbus within the district. The mailer, described as the autumn edition of a twice-yearly community-engagement update, includes QR codes linking to the full report and to the district's newswire sign-up, information about ways to connect with the district, and a summary of the campus master-plan phases on the flip side.
The district plans to issue a Golden Eagles pass to residents age 58 and older that will allow free admission to school events that charge a ticket price, primarily athletic events. "Anyone over the age of 58 [is] eligible to receive free admission to all school events that charge a ticket price," Sawyers said.
Sawyers thanked Director of Communications Patrick Galloway and communications coordinator Beth Steele for producing both publications. The board accepted the informational update; no vote was required.
