Orland Park honors Silver Lake Country Club; Chamber of Commerce begins monthly board updates

The Orland Park Village Board on Tuesday proclaimed Silver Lake Country Club the village’s Business of the Month for October 2025 and approved a related resolution. Members of the Cog Hill family accepted the recognition and thanked the board.
Village leaders noted Silver Lake’s long history in east Orland Park and its regional reputation; the proclamation recognized the club’s near‑century presence and civic contributions. Trustees voted on the resolution and approved the rededication of the business‑of‑the‑month designation during the meeting.
Separately, the board heard the first of a new monthly update from the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce. Sarah Stishukiewicz, CEO of the Chamber, told trustees the monthly presentations will highlight member accomplishments, upcoming events, ribbon cuttings and partnership opportunities between the village and the business community. The chamber announced the return of a bimonthly publication called the chambergram, a community calendar produced with Shaw Media, and a slate of ribbon cuttings and community events scheduled in coming weeks, including a multi‑chamber Southland Community Expo at Orland Square Mall on Nov. 1.
Trustees thanked the chamber for the new regular communication and encouraged continued collaboration. The consent agenda also included a special event permit for the Chamber’s Southland Community Expo and other routine municipal purchases and awards.
