Director Linda Jackson told the Scientific Advisory Committee the Department of Forensic Science’s new central laboratory is on schedule for completion by the end of the calendar year and DFS is planning a phased move beginning mid-January 2026.
"We are really getting close to being able to move into our new building," Director Jackson said, adding that the agency hopes to receive occupancy by the end of 2025 and begin moving staff and equipment in mid-January 2026. Jackson said the move will be phased over four to six weeks and will include vendor-managed dismantling, crating and reinstallation of scientific instrumentation followed by vendor-assisted performance verifications.
