Two Rivers introduces new community development director Jeff Socksy

The Two Rivers City Council on Oct. 20 welcomed Jeff Socksy as the city's new community development director.
Socksy, who said he is a native of Two Rivers and had been on the job about a week when he introduced himself, described his background in regional economic development, workforce development and data analytics. "I'm a very strong believer in the future of this community," he told the council, and said his top priority, aligned with the mayor and council goals, is to reverse population decline and encourage construction and development: "Jeff's number 1 priority is the same as mine, which is to reverse any population decline and get people back here and get shovels in the ground, and let's build some things," a council member said in introducing him.
Socksy said he planned to be visible at council meetings and to reach out to local stakeholders as he settles into the role.
The council welcomed Socksy and urged residents and businesses to assist city staff as budget and development priorities are reviewed this fall.
