Council approves memorandum updating three executive employment contracts after executive session
Summary
Following an executive session authorized under 25 O.S. §307(B)(1), the City Council approved a memorandum of understanding updating employment contracts for the city manager, city attorney and city clerk to reflect changes related to AFSCME negotiations.
Pursuant to 25 O.S. §307(B)(1), the City of Muskogee City Council convened in executive session to discuss and negotiate a memorandum of understanding updating employment contracts for the city manager, city attorney and city clerk to reflect recent changes in the AFSCME agreement. After returning to open session, the council approved the memorandum as presented.
City Attorney Katrina Bodenhamer summarized that the council met in executive session with the city manager (Bridal Francis), the city attorney and the city clerk to discuss the memorandum of understanding and that an appropriate motion would be to approve the memorandum as presented. The council moved, seconded and approved the MOU by roll call.
The MOU updates employment contracts to reflect changes from the recent AFSCME bargaining results; the council did not read the full MOU provisions into the public record during the open session. The council’s public action was to approve the memorandum as presented in open session after the executive session.
