The Oklahoma County Board of County Commissioners on Oct. 22 approved a District 2-led coat drive to gather new and gently used winter coats for the Christmas Connection program.
Commissioner representing District 2 described the drive as an annual county-facilitated effort that runs from the week of Thanksgiving through the week of Christmas (beginning Nov. 24). Collection boxes will be placed on county properties and at community locations to receive donated new and used coats for residents in need. Commissioners approved the motion by voice vote.
The item was presented as a recurring community-support initiative; no budgetary amount was specified during the discussion.
