During the Sept. 25 meeting, a project presenter provided a construction progress report on the new school. The presenter said more than 130 workers had been on site recently, the main building roof was largely finished and exterior brickwork and interior framing were advancing.
The presenter described pond and drainage work, gabion stone wall installation to control sediment, completion of fireproofing in ceiling areas after roof placement, and progress on the loading dock and weight room framing. He said the project team expects the building to be open in August and that crews will continue to complete interior framing and finish work in coming weeks.
Why it matters: The update gives the board and public a timetable for occupancy and outlines remaining exterior, roofing and interior steps that will determine the project schedule.
No formal action related to the school construction was taken during the presentation portion of the meeting.
