Cuyahoga County’s Committee on Community Development and Housing voted to forward a resolution authorizing up to $10,000 from the District 3 ARPA Community Grant Fund to the Mejor Via Foundation (doing business locally as OneHope) to aid purchase and renovation of the building at 30–12 Fulton Road.
OneHope founder Patrick Meidenbauer told the committee the group operates across from Saint Rocco’s on Fulton Road, runs weekly and monthly services including food distribution and job and family services, and bought an adjacent building two years ago. “We are financially solvent as an organization,” Meidenbauer said. He said the ARPA funds would be used for renovation work on the building next door; the upstairs would become additional affordable housing and the downstairs would provide space for programming currently constrained by their existing location.
The committee’s packet lists a total project budget of $250,000, with about $175,000 already committed and $75,000 anticipated from donors and land‑bank or private sale proceeds; Meidenbauer said OneHope already has the acquisition funds and seeks ARPA dollars for renovations. Committee members asked about the financing and expressed general support for the expansion. Councilman Kelly moved to forward the resolution to full council for the required three readings; the committee approved the motion by voice vote.
The action now goes to full council, where the three‑reading process for allocations from the ARPA Community Grant Funds will determine final approval timing and any additional conditions. The committee noted it will inform the applicant about the expected schedule for the three readings.
Votes at a glance: the committee recorded a voice vote advancing the item; no roll-call tally was provided in the transcript.
