The County Council committee voted to refer Resolution 20250282 — an amendment to a lease for the county’s auto-title office in the Golden Gate Shopping Center — to the full council for second reading.
Miss Carter read the resolution on the record: "Resolution number 20250282 authorizing an amendment to a contract with HH Golden Gate for lease of office space in Golden Gate Shopping Center located at 6420 Mayfield Road in the city of Mayfield Heights." John Myers, representing Public Works, told the committee the county has operated at that location for about 10 years and is seeking a planned five‑year amendment through Dec. 31, 2030, for approximately $550,000 — a roughly 2.4% increase that also accounts for landlord improvements.
Myers described the location as part of a one‑stop cluster for motor-vehicle services where the state operates testing and licensing and private vendors handle license plates while the county operates the title bureau. "This is sort of a 1 stop shop for people having auto and title related issues. This is for an additional 5 year period, through 12/31/2030," Myers said.
A committee member moved to refer the resolution to the full council for second reading and the motion was seconded. The chair called the vote and recorded that the ayes carried.
The committee did not suspend second reading on this item; staff said the current lease does not expire until the end of the year and the item can proceed on the regular schedule.
