Clermont County updates America 250 plans; museum day Oct. 4 and heritage tree planting Oct. 8 announced

The county’s Convention & Visitors Bureau is coordinating a committee of roughly 30 organizations for a year of programming marking the national commemoration. Ursula Miller, speaking for county staff, briefed the board on several upcoming public events and ongoing projects tied to America 250.
Miller noted a historic mural tour project and described a series of short videos produced by local videographer David Schuyven Zuber that document completed murals. She said the Ohio America 250 commission has promoted the videos and that the U.S. State Department has expressed interest and plans to publish an article spotlighting Clermont County’s mural work.
Upcoming events announced at the meeting include Museum Day on Saturday, Oct. 4, when all 13 historic sites and landmarks in Clermont County will be open; county staff will distribute a printed “museum passport” in the commissioners’ lobby and at participating sites. Miller also announced a heritage tree‑planting ceremony at Sycamore Park on Wednesday, Oct. 8, which will include living‑history interpreters portraying Martha Washington and a Revolutionary War soldier. She said county historical researchers estimate roughly 300 Revolutionary War veterans are buried in Clermont County, among the highest counts in Ohio.
Miller asked for continued interagency collaboration across the planning committee and said the county will share the State Department piece once published.
