The Cuyahoga County Audit Committee approved a 7% salary increase for audit manager Josh Alt, to take effect in the next county pay period.

Committee members said they reviewed comparable salaries and found the proposed increase appropriate. Staff told the committee there is sufficient budget in 2025 to absorb the change.

A motion to increase Alt’s compensation by 7 percent was moved, seconded and approved by the eligible voters; committee members noted the increase was supported by research on comparable positions and by the audit manager’s work and leadership.

Alt thanked the committee for the vote, saying, “Just knowing that I'm valued is much appreciated.” The committee recorded the motion as passed with all eligible voters voting aye.
