The resolution notes the county’s concern that rescission could lead to intrusive development and loss of natural qualities in the Pecos Wilderness and other roadless areas.
Commissioner Adam Johnson, a co‑sponsor, said the rule preserves large undeveloped areas and buffers ecosystems. Commissioners requested that the resolution be transmitted to the county’s federal representatives.
The board adopted Resolution 2025‑100 by voice vote; no amendments were proposed during the discussion.
