Commissioners recorded the resignation of Hank Heller and approved, by unanimous vote, the appointment of April Nelson to serve the remainder of Heller’s term on the Effingham County Library Board of Trustees. Stephanie (Clerk) noted the resignation letter would be entered into the meeting minutes and the clerk’s office will notify the appointee.

Commissioner Kiefer submitted April Nelson’s application to fill the vacancy created by Heller’s resignation for health reasons. Commissioner Kiefer briefly described Nelson’s qualifications and said she has school-age children and would be a “valued asset” on the board. A motion to accept Heller’s resignation and appoint Nelson was made, seconded and carried unanimously. The clerk confirmed the resignation letter is part of the meeting package and will be added to the minutes.
