The Cohoes City School District Board of Education unanimously approved a consent motion at its Sept. 24 meeting to adopt portions of the agenda, and directed the policy committee to develop a district social‑media policy.
A board member moved a resolution “that the board of education adopt the following resolutions of the September 24 agenda: 6 a through f, 7 a through 2, 9 a, and 10 a.” A second was recorded and the clerk conducted a roll call: Mr. Jackson, Mrs. Snyder, Mrs. Gendron, Mrs. Paradis, Mr. Gross, Mrs. Burwell and Mrs. Gillard all voted yes. The motion passed.
Board members also discussed a proposed district social‑media policy and agreed to send that topic to the policy committee for development. Board members said the policy should balance free speech rights with protections for confidential information and student privacy; several members said employee posts that disclose sensitive personnel or hiring information are a concern.
Business official Stacy (surname not specified in transcript) told the board the external audit firm completed fieldwork Sept. 8–12, auditing the general fund and selected federal programs (the child nutrition program and IDEA grant). The district expects an audit report in late October and the audit committee will meet in early November. The district also plans to present a reserve plan summary in November and a long‑range financial plan (four‑year projection) in December.
At 7:20 p.m. board members voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters and the superintendent’s goals. The motion to enter executive session was seconded and passed by roll call with the same yes votes. Board chair closed the public portion of the meeting and said they did not expect to return to open session.
No separate public votes on individual bills or ordinances were recorded beyond the consent motion and the executive session motion.
