Jackson County commissioners voted Oct. 22 to approve annual contracts and agreements that fund services provided by the county’s Council on Aging.
County staff described two measures: an annual contract with an entity referred to in the meeting as “Tarkov,” which supplies $129,000 to the council for the period Oct. 1, 2025, through Sept. 30, 2026, and a separate agreement connecting the county’s transportation program with the Council on Aging’s nutrition program to transport seniors to centers and trips. Officials said the transportation agreement is expected to bring roughly $20,000 in revenue to the county budget.
Both measures were presented as renewals of previously authorized agreements with no substantive changes to requirements. Commissioners moved and seconded the contracts and approved them by voice vote.
County staff said the transportation agreement designates the operator as the public transportation provider for Jackson County and covers the same Oct. 1, 2025–Sept. 30, 2026 period stated for the other contract.
The meeting did not present a full vendor name for “Tarkov” or a copy of the contracts; county staff said terms mirror last year’s agreements and that approval is needed to receive the funding and operate services for the year.
