At the Sept. meeting the Board opened a public hearing on the district’s sunshine proposal covering SEIU, IFPTE Local 21 (listed in agenda materials), the San Francisco Building and Construction Trades Council (SFBCTC), Stationary Engineers Local 39 and IBEW Local 6. District staff acknowledged, and corrected in public, a clerical error in the posted agenda that incorrectly named the negotiating counterpart in one document; staff confirmed the correct counterparty is SEIU Local 21. The Board took no substantive vote on the sunshine postings during the hearing beyond the procedural acceptance of the district sunshine item.
Human Resources Associate Superintendent Amy Bair read the district’s sunshine language into the record. The Board then voted to accept the district’s sunshine proposals by roll call vote.
Later in the meeting the Board approved tentative agreements reached for compensation for represented groups (SEIU, IFPTE Local 21, Stationary Engineers Local 39 and some unrepresented management) that provide a 3% off-schedule increase or a flat $3,000 off-schedule payment, whichever is higher, for employees covered by the agreements. President Kim and other board members clarified the item’s supporting materials and the state-mandated AB 1200 disclosures were included in the agenda packet. Commissioner Fisher queried whether documents online had been updated; staff said corrections were made in the posted materials.
Board votes on the tentative agreements were recorded in open session with members present voting to approve the settlements. Vice President Healy recused herself from a subsequent tentative-agreement vote because of a union affiliation.
No public commenters registered at the hearings for these items; staff said there were no public testimony speakers for the sunshine proposals when asked.
