Planning commission approves replat for Decatur Self Storage at 1200 E. U.S. Highway 380

The Decatur Planning Commission on Sept. 30 unanimously approved a replat to divide the property at 1200 East U.S. Highway 380 into two lots for Decatur Self Storage, Planning Director Lisa Hammond said.
“The application's in order, and all the requirements have been met. And staff is recommending approval,” Hammond said, noting the item was on the consent agenda and that no development is proposed at this time. Hammond also told commissioners the second lot will have access to U.S. Highway 380 if the owner comes in later with development plans.
The replat was handled as a consent-item request; Commissioner Baruvi moved to approve the replat and Commissioner Shelby Hicks seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously with five members voting in favor; Commissioners Woodruff and Chairman Lamond were absent.
Commissioners also discussed upcoming agendas; Hammond said next Tuesday’s agenda will include five planning applications. Commissioners noted they expect one vacancy on the commission and invited interested people to make themselves known. The special meeting was adjourned at 5:33 p.m.
