The program was described as running roughly from 9 a.m. into the afternoon and as an opportunity for students to learn about local job offerings.
On building matters, staff said a county building review and approval process is expected to be considered at the board’s October meeting (noted in the meeting as the fourth Tuesday in October); staff requested that one or more commissioners be present to answer questions when the item is presented to the board. Staff also noted operational workload tied to a retirement in nursing services: Veronica’s retirement changed who performs nursing assessments and has led the county to purchase additional nursing services under contract. Staff said those contract payments and accreditation preparation will continue into early 2026, with a mock accreditation anticipated in January and a June 2026 accreditation date noted for the full review.
