Sweetwater planning commission swears in Larry Ludlam, names him vice chair; approves minutes

Sweetwater — The City of Sweetwater Planning and Zoning Commission on Sept. 30 swore in Larry Ludlam as a commissioner and, by voice vote, selected him as the commission's vice chair. The commission also approved minutes from its Aug. 26 regular meeting and work sessions on Sept. 9 and Sept. 23.
The swearing-in was performed as part of the meeting's opening business. “Do you, Larry Ludlam, solemnly swear to uphold the laws and regulations of the city of Sweetwater, the Texas Constitution, and the execution of your duties on this board?” the city attorney, Samantha, asked. “Yes. I do,” Ludlam replied.
After the swearing-in commissioners considered a nomination to fill the vice-chair role. A commissioner recommended Ludlam for vice chair; a second was offered and the motion carried on a voice vote with no roll-call tally recorded.
The commission moved next to the consent agenda and approved minutes for the Aug. 26 regular meeting and the Sept. 9 and Sept. 23 work sessions. Commissioners made the approvals by motion and voice vote; no roll-call vote was recorded in the meeting transcript.
The meeting opened with an invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance and concluded with the commission adjourning following routine business.
