Tile work in control‑room bathrooms and cabinetry installation were reported as complete or pending delivery; epoxy flooring and final above‑ceiling inspections are upcoming. Sheriff’s request and building hardening Separately, staff relayed that the sheriff had asked county staff to pursue legislative appropriations, and the sheriff’s office indicated a request for $5,000,000 to repair, re‑roof and harden existing sheriff administration and processing buildings. Staff said a $5 million appropriation would allow a complete reroof and other hardening measures under grant‑eligible criteria (similar to other local hardening grants the county has pursued). Commissioners discussed priorities: one option would be to use funds to harden the roof across the facility and address immediate catastrophic‑failure risk; another would include larger renovations or reuse of an existing pod (Pod B) for administrative or storage needs, which would increase cost.

Commissioners directed staff to draft a scope for the sheriff's office building hardening and to coordinate with the sheriff on priorities, including short‑term roof repairs and a longer‑term renovation plan. Staff noted they have applied for similar hardening grants and will pursue available state and FEMA grants, but that senate or house appropriations remain a separate avenue.
