Patrick County board releases Tourism Advisory Council funds and schedules joint meeting to review grant procedures

Supervisors moved to unfreeze funds for the Tourism Advisory Council and voted to release the remainder of the fiscal year funds for items the TAC had already approved. Staff clarified that the release covers amounts previously budgeted and approved by the TAC and does not authorize additional disbursements beyond those approvals.
Board members discussed scheduling a joint meeting with the TAC to align procedures on awarding grants and sponsorships. Staff and TAC representatives agreed that the TAC meets the third Thursday of each month; the board and TAC settled on Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. at the Community Building, Community Room, for a meeting between the full board and the TAC. Supervisors said the meeting would allow the board and TAC to ensure consistent handling of grants and sponsorships and to answer questions from TAC members.
The board asked staff to prepare any documents or grant procedures the TAC and board should review before the joint session.
