Barnes said the narrow driveway and property layout nonetheless meet the city’s ADA policy standards for creating an on‑street blue‑curb space and recommended installing 22 feet of blue curb as shown in the staff figure.
Residents raised additional parking concerns nearby, noting vehicles sometimes park close to the corner and block sight lines. Commissioners discussed daylighting (red curb) at the intersection and Barnes said staff would add a red‑curb daylighting statement to the action per the city's daylighting guidance. Commissioners also asked staff to monitor enforcement in the block.
A motion to approve the blue‑curb request passed by voice/roll call; commissioners present voted in favor. The installation will include the ADA sign and the marked 22‑foot blue curb; staff will coordinate placement with daylighting and enforcement practices.
