Kossuth County staff set payroll‑date resolutions and employee handbook for next meeting; absentee voting preparations underway

County administrative staff told the Kossuth County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 25 that several personnel and payroll items will appear on the board agenda at the next meeting and that election preparations are underway.
Staff said they plan to present the employee handbook for board approval next week and that payroll changes will include four draft resolutions that list affected employees and set pay dates: prepaid paid on the 20th, non‑prepaid paid on the 20th, a pay schedule for the engineer's office paid on the first of the month, and a schedule for EMS and jail staff. Staff said an internal reviewer (Ian) is finalizing the documents and that, once approved by Anne, they will circulate the resolutions to department heads to verify employee listings.
County staff also said they are preparing ballots for the city and school elections and that absentee voting opens Oct. 15; the elections office is busy preparing related materials. No formal action on the handbook or payroll resolutions occurred at the Oct. 25 meeting; staff indicated the items will be on the next meeting agenda for possible approval.
The board asked for clarification about whether EMS pay days would change; staff said they were awaiting confirmation from Anne and would report back.
No motions or votes were taken on these administrative items at the meeting.
