Juvenile diversion incentive
Staff also reported that the county had 36 participants in the juvenile diversion program during the fiscal year and that 26 were successfully diverted. Under the state's Juvenile Justice Reform Incentive (JJRI) program, the county will receive $750 for each successful diversion; staff said the county's tally of 26 successful cases equates to $19,500 that will be paid through the state.
Staff noted timing constraints: the JJRI calculation runs on a July-through-June fiscal cycle, so cases still in progress after July are counted in the next year's totals.
