The Physical Therapy Board of California on Sept. 24 reviewed a draft of its sunset report and outlined proposed statutory changes it plans to seek in the upcoming review process.
Board President Dale Armstrong and Executive Officer Kaiser said the board has been drafting a sunset report with a subcommittee and expects to workshop a draft on Oct. 15 with a likely follow-up meeting on Nov. 19. "We will push the draft out to the rest of the members to be able to review," Kaiser said, describing the Oct. 15 meeting as "very much a classroom setting" where members will edit the draft on a large screen.
The board said workforce data collected since 2020 will play a larger role in this year's report. Kaiser told members that about half of licensees report not planning to retire within 11 or more years and that current licensing application trends…
