Bannock County Juvenile Justice gets extension to complete EPICS coaching sessions

Matt Olsen of Bannock County Juvenile Justice asked the board to amend the county’s agreement with the University of Cincinnati Research Institute to extend the contract end date to Dec. 31, 2025.
Olsen said staff completed three-day on-site training in the EPICS (Effective Practices in Community Supervision) program and had completed four of five ongoing coaching visits; the fifth coaching visit will occur in October and requires the contract extension because the existing agreement was set to end Sept. 30.
A commissioner moved to authorize the county to sign an amendment extending the agreement; the board approved the authorization by voice vote. The amendment will allow completion of the fifth coaching session and ongoing coaching as described by Juvenile Justice staff.
