Ada County clerk reports absentee mailing, early-voting schedule and precincts for upcoming election

The Ada County clerk’s office told commissioners on Sept. 30 it had mailed just over 7,300 absentee ballots and that early voting will begin Oct. 20 with eight early-voting locations available.
The deputy clerk said the office had received four absentee ballots back at the time of the report and reminded voters they can find polling locations and ballot information at the county elections website. The clerk’s office provided counts the board can use to plan staffing: the county will have 189 active precincts and 132 voting locations for the election.
The clerk’s office also reported it is close to opening a remodeled elections office in the county warehouse and said the space upstairs is ready and final warehouse touches are under way. The deputy clerk said staff had resolved outstanding issues with the City of Boise concerning pallets and expects a successful opening soon.
The board thanked the clerk’s office and offered support for the project; no action was required beyond the informational update.
