Superintendent: Class of 2025 used multiple graduation pathways; few denied diplomas

Dr. Sanchez said 248 graduates met the end-of-year NJGPA exam standard; 46 completed substitute competency pathways such as SAT/PSAT; 70 graduated using the district's portfolio process; and three students had alternative requirements set by individual education programs (IEPs). About three students were denied graduation for various reasons, and "none of them were denied graduation because of failing the NJGPA," Sanchez said.
The superintendent framed the district's approach as using every available pathway to support students to the finish line: "We go above and beyond really to ensure that every student that walks through our door are not being hindered by one assessment," he said. Board members had no follow-up questions after the report.
The presentation was given during the public portion of the board meeting; the board continued with routine business afterward.
